Registration Deadline and Kickoff Party - April 20!

Hello Oregon Offshore racers and fans!

The entry deadline for this year's race is approaching quickly. You must either have your entry postmarked by midnight on April 20, 2015, or bring your entry to the Kickoff Party that same day.

The Kickoff Party is a ton of fun. Food and drinks will be available to purchase, and we plan to have t-shirts available for purchase as well. As usual, we will have a bunch of racing or sailing-related goodies to raffle off, and you'll get to hear about the boats that have entered.

For the Kickoff Party, show up at 6:30pm at
Kells Irish Restaurant and Pub
112 SW 2nd Ave
Portland, OR 97204

So far we have a smaller number, at 8 boats. However, we've heard from another six or seven who say they have mailed entries, or that they are for sure racing but just haven't gotten their entries in yet. With the likely few more stragglers, it will be a decent fleet.

If you have questions or need help completing your entry, email us at oregonoffshore@cycportland.org.

Thank you, and see you on April 20!

Riva and Avalon make 8

We've received two more entries, both from Oregon Offshore veterans!

Riva is a J-46 from Portland, OR. She is skippered by Scott Campbell, and she rates 45.

Welcome back, Cantata!

Brave CYC members Tom Brownson and Liz Bartell have entered their Ericson 38 this year. You might remember them as the boat that lost its rudder last year just north of Grays Harbor and safely made its way in under emergency steering.

Cantata rates 147 and hails from Astoria, OR. Better luck to them this year!

Rage is Back!

After a painful and somewhat tragic absence last year, Rage has entered the race again. Her skipper is Steve Rander, of Portland, OR, and owner of one of the race's best sponsors, Schooner Creek Boat Works. Together, Steve and Rage held the record for Fastest to Finish until last year. At a PHRF rating of -63, this Wylie 70 is definitely the fastest boat registered for this year so far.

Welcome back Rage! The rest of us look forward to seeing you briefly at the starting line.

We Have Velocity's Entry!

Tom Keffer has again entered his J/42, Velocity. Tom hails from Hood River, OR, and is an Oregon Offshore veteran.

Velocity has a PHRF NW rating of 72.
